Perception is the organisation, identification, and interpretation of sensory information. Our main effort is to educate trainees to avoid, or be capable of dealing with confrontation, and violence, when you perceive a threat to be present, and your survival signals kick in.
JOHN – PKM CHIEF INSTRUCTOR
Krav Maga (‘Contact Combat’) was originally designed as a military system and later developed for civilian use. John, the Chief Instructor at PKM, has served 22 years in the British Army and is still active. A large part of his career has been spent in training establishments, instructing military skills and leadership to recruits, trained soldiers, and Officers.
Krav Maga was a natural progression and really appealed as a defensive tactics system to John, after training in different martial arts and combat sports since childhood, and a lifetime around the military.
John has been teaching Krav Maga for 8 years, and is also a BJJ practitioner, Personal Trainer, and Boot Camp Instructor. He recently completed the Kids Instructor Course in 2024.
BRIAN – PKM INSTRUCTOR
With over two decades of service in the British Army and still actively serving, Brian brings a wealth of real-world experience to his role as an instructor at PKM. Throughout his career, he has spent significant time in training establishments, developing and instructing military skills and leadership to recruits, trained soldiers, and NCOs. His deep-rooted expertise in military training made Krav Maga a natural extension of his skill set, providing a practical and effective approach to defensive tactics.
A dedicated practitioner of Krav Maga for several years, Brian believes that learning never stops. He embraces the mindset of continuous development, constantly refining his abilities and passing on his knowledge to help others build confidence, resilience, and real-world self-defence skills.
LIAM – PKM INSTRUCTOR
Liam is employed as a security professional and has served over ten years in the British Army Reserves. Having worked in Close Protection since 2019 and delivering Hostile Environment Awareness Training since 2017, he has become an asset to the security and training industry. Liam has also been employed as a security medic, and delivered basic medical training. Since transitioning into the private security sector, he has provided protection for high-net-worth individuals, including A-list celebrities. Liam has worked alongside former military specialists to deliver advanced security training to civilian organisations.
In 2018, Liam began training in Krav Maga to enhance his capabilities as a close protection operative. Over the last eight years he has refined his expertise through continuous training with other instructors in Krav Maga, and by collaborating with instructors with other backgrounds in martial arts.
